Bunny Hop!

Another hugely successful event for the Downtown Lee’s Summit promotions commitee and all that participated! Hundreds of kiddies and their baskets hoping around getting candy from so many businesses. There were 28 business in all and most gave out prizes to a girl or boy because they were the store’s representative and wore a sash with the store’s name. This idea was Chuck Denton’s from Doherty & Sullivan’s Irish Goods. My fav was a little girl who dressed up like a chicken and another was a boy carrying a huge box with a handle with tons of candy he glued onto the box. Fun day with beautiful weather!

unReal Housewives

Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! Have you ever had a party and it turned out to be awash? You were thinking I should have done my laundry instead of planning a get together with all my fab friends? When it is time for the party to arrive your ready, your set and you are ready to fire to get the party started. Then hardly any one shows up, no one likes the food and your uninvited guests Pete n Repete are so obnoxious that people are leaving early? This party was the OPPISITE! It rocked with tons of people. Sitzmark handing you sweet cocktails, interesting GORGEOUS people, catered yum yums, and these FABULOUS women were there. Who am I talking about? I am talking about the unReal Housewives of Kansas City and they held a smash out party at trendz! They are on the cover of 435 South April issue. Check out their website at unrealhousewiveskc.com for some really good “Oops I just peed my self” laughs!

KSHB Channel 41 “Free Garden Spot”

Wow, on the ol telly again! Gosh, I hate it!!! Never liked having pictures made either. Any way, it was about my posting on Craigslist. I posted “Free Garden Spot” and had up to now 24 families wanting to garden in a spot in my yard that used to be a garden several years ago. I can no longer garden because I have had 3 spinal surgeries and can’t. I was on the news earlier in the week telling the interesting stories about the people that contacted me (read the blog about KMBZ News). Now I am hearing about how my idea is starting other community gardening spots. How cool is THAT!? We have some one that is coming and tilling our garden free and also some one supplies plants for a bright spot in my yard. I have not had home grown veggies and I don’t know how long and they will be organic. We all will be sharing the work and the fruit of our labor. Can’t wait. We have chosen a husband and wife team and their 5 kids and a few others. This will be an exciting summer!

Channel 9 KMBC News “Free Garden Spot”

I was on the news 3/30/09 it was no big deal just a story on my listing of Free Garden Spot on craigslist. Laura Moritz was so nice, beautiful and tall. Her husband filmed the story and it was one of the main stories othat night! They were newly married last June. Cute couple! I am sharing my yard with some one who wants to start and have a garden of their own but can’t because they live in a condo and have no room. For more info on this story go to google and google the KMBZ News website.

Be Positive!

I know we hear so much of the economy being poor but did you think of it this way? 93% of us still have jobs. That is a lot of people still bringing in an income and keeping our country going. Did any one see Slumdog Millionaire? We are so lucky to live in our free country and I am so glad I am part of the business world where my clients still keep coming in. I love doing this. The Teeth Whitening Studio has brought so much happiness to people that come in. We have done attorneys handling a huge case that made the papers and country wide news, football player from L.A., people getting divorced, a 13 year old being made fun of because his teeth hit a growth spurt, FEMA employee, 86 year olds, I have even done some one that had braces and insisted on her teeth being white around the braces. I could tell you a 1,000 stories that is about how many people we have been able to turn a yellow smile into a bright smile at this location. We all need to be positive so we have a better attitude and outlook about our very lucky lives!

Bunny Hop

This is too cute to pass up. We have a real live 5′5″ inch tall walking around bunny in our lovely downtown area passing out candies to little girls and boys. Also there will be tons of businesses passing out candy to the little ones. Last year I saw all kinds of home made Easter Baskets. Wish I was so talented. Can’t wait to see what this year will bring. It is held on April 11th. Children will be chosen on the best baskets and given a sash to wear and also a prize and a store’s ambassador. So far over 20 businesses are participating. Be in front of Lee’s Summit City Hall by 9:45am.

Chocolate Crawl

WOW! Talk about a succesful event! The promotions commitee worked really hard. One of the memebers was Jett Pabst from A Thyme for Everything who started this idea. This was the second year and was held on Feb. 7th the Saturday before Valentine’s Day. Hundreds of ladies came to the downtown Lee’s Summit businesses and grabbed chocolates from a huge amount of participating shops. The weather couldn’t have been better in the 70’s! There was a massive gift basket give away worth $500 smakers and all you had to do was register. Talk about some fattening fun but sooo worth it!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade route

What to have some fun with the kiddies and get dressed all in green? Well you don’t have to get dressed in green but you will have a blast. The parade starts on Saturday the 14th of March at 1:00. The parade starts at Lee’s Summit High School, marches down Green Street, turns onto Third at City Hall, truns onto SE Main by Howard Station Park (the depot), and then crosses Second to end at the Untied Methodist Church. Bring some chairs and get ready to crab candy that is being tossed your way. Hundreds of people line the street so if you want a certain spot grap it early. There will be a Pub Crawl to follow at 3:00 pm at all the participating drinking troughs. What could be more fun starting out this Spring than with a parade?

Lee’s Summit Farmers Market

Yum Yum. Ready for some goodies for your tum tummy? The Farmer’s Market starts again April 25th. I hear there is going to be tons of organic veggies and fruits. If you are like me and try to garden and something swiftly comes in the dead of the night and kills it all then this close farmers market is for you. I even buy my Halloween Pumpkins there. Last year there was even home made bread and pies. We all need to eat more veggies and fruits so pay them a visit this year!
